Our 5 Step Process
Some sites provide cheap, easy and fast online wills without attorney involvement. But the liability remains on your shoulders. On the other hand, visiting a law firm to create a basic last will can be expensive, time consuming and intimidating.
Smarter Will™ is the best of both worlds: giving you the power to create a legally sound document online with the help of attorneys, while keeping the price low. To do this, we’ve got fewer hidden steps than online legal form sites to deliver better peace of mind.
-
1. Register
Gain access to our client space to get started. Registering does not obligate you to make a purchase. It simply allows you to preview the forms and gain access to Smarter Will community resources. Our client space is hosted by MyLegalAffairs™, a TRUSTe certified document site.
-
2. Complete Forms
Preview the forms and complete them before you purchase. Some sites lure you in with a “get your will in 15 minutes” enticement. You won’t finish a Smarter Will in 15 minutes, but you certainly should have it complete within the hour. And for such an important milestone, isn’t one hour worth your time?
-
3. Checkout
Once you’ve completed your documents, you’ll need to purchase them and any additional services that you choose. This process is powered by JP Morgan Chase and is certified for privacy.
-
4. Receive Attorney Review
This is our favorite part. Your documents will be reviewed by an attorney. We review basic spelling, grammar and consistency, but we will also review the documents to make sure they are adequate and appropriate for your unique situation. If the validity of your document is questioned after you die, your family can turn to Granat Legal to help validate it. That’s the Smarter Will difference.
-
5. Receive Document for Signature
Your official documents will then be delivered in a special packet within three business days or less. You will receive papers copies by First Class mail and a set will be uploaded to your MyLegalAffairs secure client space.
